In 2020, a group of like-minded alumni from IIMA came together to start the IIMA Endowment Fund (IIMAEF), a first-of-its-kind initiative for a B-school in India. Endowments are very popular globally, and most of the leading schools worldwide have billions of dollars in their endowments powered by their alumni.
Endowments have long been a source of support to academic institutions. They are a dedicated and permanent funding source to maintain the Institution’s quest for excellence. Some of the best academic institutions in the world have access to the most significant endowment funds.

Academic Institutions in India long ago had a history of long-lasting excellence; institutions like Nalanda and Takshashila lasted for nearly 100 years as important centres of excellence. Modern India also needs its Institutions to follow the same path. Endowments, as a reliable source of funds, protect institutions against both internal and external shock and keep them on track of continued excellence.

Indian academic institutions have tremendous growth potential as their endowments are still nascent. The IIMA Endowment Fund exists solely in the service of the Institute. It aims to build a long-term, flexible source of funds powered by a self-replenishing and unencumbered corpus.
